Our Story
J&L Security is a security systems installation and maintenance company based in Brentwood, Essex, serving homes and businesses across Essex and Greater London since 2011. We install and maintain burglar alarms, CCTV systems, fire alarms, access control systems, and security lighting.
The company started with intruder alarm installations for residential properties in the Romford and Ilford areas. Over the following years, we expanded into CCTV, fire alarm compliance work for commercial landlords and HMO owners, and access control for offices and residential blocks. That growth came from repeat business and referrals, not marketing spend.
Our engineers are qualified, DBS checked, and work to SSAIB standards on every job. We carry GBP 2 million public liability insurance and GBP 10 million employers' liability insurance. Every installation comes with full documentation, system training, and ongoing support.
We work with equipment from manufacturers we trust and have tested over thousands of installations: Pyronix and Texecom for intruder alarms, Uniview for CCTV, Advanced and C-Tech for fire alarm panels, and Paxton and Comelit for access control. We do not install cheap or unbranded equipment.

How We Work
Every job starts with a free survey. One of our engineers visits your property, assesses the security requirements, and discusses your priorities and budget. There is no sales pressure and no obligation. After the survey, you receive a written quote with a fixed price that will not change unless you ask for additional work.
Installation is carried out by the same team that surveyed your property. We do not subcontract. A typical domestic burglar alarm installation takes half a day. A 4-camera CCTV system is usually completed in one day. Commercial fire alarm installations may take longer depending on the building size and system category.
On completion, we commission the system, walk you through how to use it, set up any smartphone apps, and provide all documentation. For fire alarms, this includes the commissioning certificate and log book. For monitored intruder alarms, we handle the URN registration for police response.
After installation, we offer maintenance contracts for all system types. For fire alarms, 6-monthly servicing is a legal requirement under BS 5839-1. For intruder alarms and CCTV, annual servicing keeps your system reliable and your insurance valid. If something goes wrong between visits, our 24/7 emergency callout service is available.
