The area's housing runs from the 17th century to the 2020s. In the Victorian and Edwardian houses and mansion flats, wireless intruder alarms avoid disturbing period interiors, and ground-floor flats need their windows and rear access covered. Many of these streets are in conservation areas, including Battersea Park, Park Town, Shaftesbury Park Estate, Vauxhall and Albert Square, so external sounders and cameras should be sited discreetly.
